Common types of treatment can include:

- Surgery: the surgical removal of the melanoma
- Targeted Therapy: includes drugs and other methods that target the specific abnormal gene or protein.
Melanoma can happen to anyone – but it is more prevalent in light or fair-skinned people. Note: you can get a diagnosis of Melanoma even if you have not spent much time in the sun! Once the Melanoma abnormal cells quickly spread to other parts of your body.
Proper testing is required to determine if your growth is Melanoma and if it is malignant.
